The 2024 GMC Acadia is bigger than before

The 2024 GMC Acadia is bigger than before. It has a wheelbase that is 8.4 inches longer and a total length that is 10.6 inches longer. The inside is bigger and has a new look. A 15.0-inch monitor is normal. All models have a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 328 horsepower and can pull up to 5,000 pounds. The new Acadia is a larger three-row midsize SUV that looks more like a truck on the outside than its predecessor did. This is a trend that is being followed by both new competitors and its company cousin, the Chevy Traverse, which just got a new look.

What's Inside the New Acadia?

The new Acadia's interior is much nicer than before. The center panel is bigger and there are more places to put things. The 11.0-inch digital gauge panel and 15.0-inch tablet take up most of the space on the dashboard. Both are standard and come with a Google-based infotainment system that can be customized. At the bottom of the middle monitor, you can control the HVAC using both touch features and toggle buttons.

Almost all driver-assistance technology comes standard on every Acadia. This includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring, as well as systems that identify bikes and pedestrians, automatic emergency braking, and up to nine outdoor camera views. On the Elevation and AT4 trims, the new Acadia is also offered for the first time with GM's hands-free driver-assistance system, Super Cruise.

The Growth Spurt of the GMC Acadia

Overall, the Acadia grew 10.6 inches, making it 204 inches long now. It is half a foot shorter than the full-size GMC Yukon, but both have the same 120.9-inch wheelbase. This makes the cabin bigger, so it can easily fit seven people in the AT4 and Denali trims with captain's chairs and eight people in the Elevation trim with a second-row bench seat.

Since the new Acadia is bigger, it also has more place for carrying things. GMC says there is almost 80% more room behind the third row and about 36% more space when the back seats are folded down. Under the load floor is a storage bin, and under that is a spare tire. We think there will be about 23 cubic feet of room behind the third row and about 56 cubic feet behind the second row in the new model.

All types have a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

The new turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine in the Acadia is more powerful than the old engines. It has 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, which is more than the previous engines. We don't yet know how much gas the new engine will save. The Acadia can be set up with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and it can pull up to 5,000 pounds. The AT4 model has some unique features, like an all-wheel-drive system that works well off-road and special gear. The Denali version has black lower body trim with a shiny finish, a flashy hood, and 22-inch wheels that can be added. Inside the Acadia Denali, there is leather seating, front seats that are heated and cooled, and a Bose radio with 12 speakers. The base-level 2024 Acadia, the Elevation, is slated to cost just under $40,000, while the top-of-the-line Denali will cost more than $50,000.
